New design + functionalities online
2010-03-10 22:00:00Dear all,
Since now albumsindex is online with an improved user interface. Together with this interface the integration with Google Friend Connect and Twitter has been improved.
As long been wished for, we now have fully capable tag searching (or genre searching) for all of our albums. This way you can find your favourite music with less hassle.
With the better integration of Friend Connect people will now have the ability to use this account to fully interact with our website. Using this system we can provide a very safe system without that our users need to create a new account!
In the near future we hope to add more content to all our albums (reviews, wiki entries etc) and more interactive ways for our website!
Enjoy!
Our future? You'll tell
2010-03-02 22:00:00As you might already have read in our newsletter (subscribe yourself to our service messages here) we are working on our future.
This future includes more groups, a longer retention and better PAR support.
To get more feedback from our users we made a poll. Filling in this poll would be great for us, but most likely even better for you in the long term!
Sabnzbd RSS feed support
2010-02-25 21:00:00Sabnzbd is an Open Source Binary Newsreader written in Python. It's totally free, incredibly easy to use, and works practically everywhere. SABnzbd makes Usenet as simple and streamlined as possible by automating everything we can. All you have to do is add an .nzb. SABnzbd takes over from there, where it will be automatically downloaded, verified, repaired, extracted and filed away with zero human interaction.
From today we support the RSS feed option within your Sabnzbd. When you're logged in using Google Friend connect you will see an "Download using sabnzbd" option at every album.
This will bring you to a page where you can see your private RSS feed link. By adding this RSS feed to your download tool it will automatically download every album you select on our website, making downloading 10x easier!
Try it out yourself, visit our Sabnzbd page.
Further Amazon integration
2010-02-13 17:00:00Today we introduced even more Amazon integration. Most of our core code is based on the Amazon API, which allows us to identify valid albums and show you people albums covers.
Now on every album post we also show the current value of that specific album and a link directly to the Amazon album. This way you could consider buying an original copy for the cheapest prices prices possible. Though the link to NZB is still there :-)
Fixed updating issues
2010-01-12 16:00:00There were some backend issues with our album art fetcher. For this reason loads of newly indexed albums weren't showed at the website.
We fixed this issue and we are currently working on generating 4000 album art for 4000 albums, which were already in the database but weren't showed at the website.
Due to this you will most likely see a massive amount of RSS feed items in the next couple of hours! Also the search engine will now popup with more results (including old results!).
Some questions for our members!
2009-11-07 18:00:00Since we have a Google Friend connect user base reaching 300 we would like these members to fill in the following poll which will help us improve Albumsindex.comFree binverse test accounts
2009-07-28 15:00:00On behalf of the Usenet provider named Binverse (website http://www.binverse.com/) we of Albumsindex are entitled to give away 5 free test accounts (worth of downloading 20gb).
All what you need todo is leave a reply on this blog post and sent us an email (info@albumsindex.com). On Sunday August 9th we'll pick the 5 best replies and contact them with their login details.
Good luck to all!
